Here’s a suggested plan for May, which members of Running Inn Eastbourne running club can try out for themselves, as our Wednesday sessions will correspond to this plan.

As I said in the previous post, I’m adapting Rubio’s six principles to fit with our Wednesday group and my own training. Here’s some ideas for you!

Marathon’s are not to be taken lightly. Most people who do the marathon, simply don’t put in enough miles to get the best out of themselves, and the miles they do are run slightly too fast!

PLANNING YOUR MARATHON TRAINING…

A lot of our members have been asking for schedules for forthcoming marathons, most notably Brighton. I’m happy to offer individuals advice, but here are some general guidelines for those of us with 13 weeks (Brighton) or 14 weeks (London) left!

Base build for at least six weeks

  • Get out and run at an easy pace
